It is a beautiful day for a blog. And after a 1..2...2.5 month hiatus, I'm back.
Wilbur & Violet & I had a lovely sunny walk this morning and then Jason & I went to a tailor in Brookside to get his new suit and my bridesmaid dress (for ashlea's wedding) altered. The shop was really small and cozy and busy and I loved it. We had lunch with my parents (who are in town for the KU game) & Niki and Andrew (who were house-shopping) at Panera and then Jason & I ran some errands. I ran into Lulu's Boutique while he went to the hardware store and I instantly remembered how fabulous that place is. I love the process of looking for the perfect thing that you know is somewhere on that rack. There's something about second-hand-stuff. How there's only one of something that makes it seem so special and so destined to be found by you. The stars did not align on Lulu's but we did get a new furnace filter and some picture hangers. woo hoo! excitement.
The dogs are ringing the bell every few minutes and wanting to go right back outside each time they come in. Violet is sunbathing on the back porch couch.
I have been keeping busy with a lot of projects. I designed an invitation for Ashlea's bridal shower in Wichita, a logo for a friend of a friend's budding business (Ink Noir Calligraphy), and Niki's save-the-dates. I'll share some visuals of the invites as soon as I get my camera fixed. I have also been journaling a lot more and fixing up my work space down in the basement. Must be all that energy and resolution the new year gives you. Hopefully some will overflow into this blog.
